Haha it seems like everybody likes that place. I'm gonna have to go there and actually set foot inside. Does everybody go to Japan because there's a boat nearby?
Okay, so if not Teppan Yaki or Teppan Edo, maybe it is downstairs at Mitsosuki Department Store... ; Just trying to place the structural elements is why I keep going back to Japan.
Pretty warm with the dragons, Rick, and I agree that the structural elements are a bit reminiscent of Japan, but there's one little thing in the picture that I don't believe the Japanese would appreciate in their architecture. It's in the lower left quadrant of the picture ;
I've got one in the waiting area for the Chinese theater, Tim, but now that you've said it, I'll have to wait ; ;D
Inside the Chinese store? ; Maybe by the singing waterbowl. ; The amount of track lighting really makes me think its in a shop (since restaurants have been ruled out).
Nailed it again, Red! I was referring to that little tidbit by the column in the lower left of the picture. Based on the little remnants of all those history of architecture courses I took in college, I think it's a distinctly Chinese feature, whereas the Japanese have much cleaner/geometrical details. Just thought I'd throw that bit out there ... I could be totally wrong ; :
I have to be careful about what I put onto my Flickr and the proximity of them to other pictures! Promise you guys won't cheat!
