Random POTD Thread

Re: ColleenMarie's POTD Thread

WDW - the coloring in this shot, is amazing. It almost feels muted, yet it is very sharp. Nice job!

Joe - WOW, how did you do that? This shot is awesome! The softness around the castle is wonderful.

I agree. Those 2 are breathtaking and both your Flickr pages are fabulous.

Thanks. The Everest shot is actually a pseudo-HDR (HDR from a single RAW file). I've started using Dynamic HDR rather than Photomatix, and I have been able to produce a lot more realistic looking results.

Here is mine for today:

Re: ColleenMarie's POTD Thread

Thanks guys, that castle shot seems to be pretty popular. Again, another shot that I'd just kinda ignored. I wasn't happy with it because I felt that I should have gotten lower so that the uppermost spire would have been more visible. I think it's the treatment that makes the picture though. I've been messing around with the "vivid" film filter within PSPPX2 and like what it does. Really does give kind of a vivid film look to the photograph that sometimes I feel is missing from digital images.

Awesome shot Colleen ^^ :)

Here's mine for today. Admittedly, this is a little over processed, but I still like the way it turned out. I think I went a little heavy on the black levels. I need to quit doing that so much...

I tend to use the UNDO button when I feel I've gone too far with editing...

Yours is a GREAT shot! ...

but like you said, it does look like it's got a touch too much black.

I'll do a castle today too...

I think this one is just about perfect, if I hadn't cut the top spire off ???
