I didn't know that either. Glad you're on top of the press events!

Do we have an official/unofficial list of everyone that's coming so far with arrival dates? Just wondering as I just booked my airfare and regretfully have to fly in a day early (11/30 now). The downside is that I am flying Allegiant into Sanford and have to stay at Pop one night (the type of room I have at Kidani is waitlisted). The upside is that I'll have a car on Friday the 1st and was thinking that if anyone else was in that early that I might make a side trip outside of Disney that day (Universal? Orlando Eye/Aquarium/Tussaud's? Ripley's?) if interested. Anyway, just a thought.

  4. I also had to change my arrival date. Now I am flying in on 12 2 17 and flying out on Friday Dec. 15th . I'm staying at Plop century and I was able to add an additional day even though the resort will still be undergoing renovations.

Did I understand correctly that Dave and Gillian will only be with us for a day and a half? :( Perhaps we can kidnap them and keep them longer, like over due library books

My official dates are Dec. 5 - 12. I just rebooked my Southwest flight and saved $18 (assuming I can use that $18 on Southwest before it expires).

Was your fare an "Get Away" fare (the cheapest option)? If so, how did you go about getting the change in fares as I thought they were non-refundable/non-transferable. The reason I ask is that the fare on my September trip went down $12 (but have 7 people traveling). So if there's an easy way to do it I can save $84 overall for the travel party.

Even the get away fares can be rebooked. You get a credit for a future ticket, but you have to use the credit on a flight within one year of the date of original purchase (not the date of the original flight). If you have early bird check in, that is not refundable so you loose that completely.

Oh, and I think the credit stays in the name of each ticket holder, not the person who purchased them.

I'd be fine with that as I don't usually fly southwest but the rest of them do. Am I able to do this thru the website or does it have to be over the phone?

Online. There's a change/cancel button on the right side of the screen.

Thanks for the info. The lower fare was gone by the time I went back but will keep it in mind if it pops up again.

They're having a fare sale right now, which I think runs through tomorrow (6/8/17).

Here's what I do: After verifying that the price of my flight has gone down, I log on to Southwest, go to My Trips, select the trip that I want to rebook and click Change. That goes to a screen where I can select the specific flight(s) that I want to change (this week, the flight down got cheaper but the return flight did not). Then it goes to a screen that shows all of your flight options and allows you to either select the same flight or change the flight or date, whatever you need to do. The remainder is just like booking a new flight, except that it shows you the amount of money now available as travel funds for future use.

After you have some travel funds set aside, the trick is finding out what you have. There is a super secret hidden page where you can enter a confirmation number and passenger's name to see the available travel funds.

Thanks for the link to the Super Secret Hidden Page, Dennis I have got credit for many reduced fares, but just keep a list of my confirmation numbers that I had credit on. You would still have to remember which confirmations you have credit. I change my flights the same way you do. It is easy..

Thanks for the info! Woke up this morning to see an email stating I had a credit. Apparently my friend emailed southwest about the fare decrease and they gave it to us even though the price was no longer available. Bonus!

I have a whole bunch of Speedway points, @zackiedawg, but I don't know if they're transferrable.

Unfortunately for me my flight prices did not go down. My departing flight is still $80 more then I paid for it and my return flight is $60 more. They both went up right after I purchased them. Their prices from Albany are much higher this year and we only have two non stops a day now. Grrrrr.... Always hoping for decent times and prices.

You aren't the only one Jackie. The current sale doesn't apply to BWI-MCO

Well, at least you have some options... I either pay an outrageous amount on Delta/United/American (with layovers) or fly Allegiant into Sanford. Other than that I have to drive 3-4 hours if I want to fly out of Chicago (but between gas and parking the price adds up to about the same as flying local).
