I found a referbed 85 1.4. I can't decide if it is worth the extra $$. Did you shoot both before buying the 1.8 Roger?
 
No, I went on mostly $$ vs. online reviews vs. my previous experience with the 85/1.2L. It seems that a lens that size (1.2/1.4) is always a bear to focus because the elements have to move a large distance vs. element size. So based on the reviews of the quality of the image, and the fact that I'm only losing about 1/2-2/3 of a stop of light, which isn't a big deal anymore since you can crank the ISO without too much of a headache, that I decided that the extra cost wasn't worth it.

Nice shots! Always have to respect the shrimp :)

For me it is not about the extra stop of light with my 85f1.2, although it is nice when it is needed ;D. However, it is all about the bokeh which the narrower primes do not offer for me. For portraits nothing is better or challenging than going wide at 1.2 or 1.4.

That's a shrimp? When I first looked at the first shot I thought crayfish. Oh well, I have never been one to identify animals. Great shots! I love sea world and shooting there is always a lot of fun.
