Nikon D300 or D90?

The D300 does not have an infrared sensor built in, but Nikon makes the ML-3 remote which is an infrared remote that sits on the hot shoe and plugs into the 10-pin connector:

Okay, why on earth would anyone want an IR remote over Hardwire? ; Seriously here, hardwire = reliability. ; I knew a guy who would hardwire his basketball remotes

I'm probably not looking at getting anything until after Christmas, so it might be a while. But when (not if) I do I will check and see if you still any of these goodies! Thanks for all the help too. And everyone else.
 
Jeff....now that you have a D7000, would you still go with a D300? ; From what I've been reading, unless you want full-frame the D7000 is the best camera for DX shooters. ; Though it does not have the Pro like controls/buttons/build.

Not to muddy the waters for ya, CJ. ; ::)

Not really- I mainly moved back to DX for video and size- I don't want to spend the money and don't want to carry the weight of anything Nikon has out there that shoots FX video (especially with an UWA lens attached.) ; I do miss the professoinal controls layout a bit but it's not too bad getting use to- I don't really tweak on the controls when I'm out all that much anyway. ; I seriously thought about a D300s and probably would have bought one if I had ran across a good deal on a minty used one before I found a D7000 in stock. ; But as it is right now I'm very happy with my choices.
