Need a Camera Doc - help

so I went out to shoot some azaleas just a bit ago...
I have been shooting in different modes- when i put the NEX on shutter priority- as it is focusing there is a bright light.around the edges-- it has since stopped doing it-
Is is terminal-
I have an extended warranty on it. and only got it right after the first of the year...

What should i do-
What would YOU do.

Viewfinder or LCD?

I would remove the battery for at least five minutes and then try it again and not get worried unless it happens again. ; It sounds like the LCD/Viewfinder is overexposing for instant. ; Remember nothing is optical* on that camera, everything is digital.

* okay the lens is, and that's it. ; The viewfinder isn't.
