NDR-how to cover a jar with no lid

So Sean and I went to Costco last night and picked up a few things. ; Among them was a 2kg jar of peanut butter. ; I was putting it into the car when it slipped out of my hands and the lid broke. ; Now there is no lid on a jar of PB that will probably last us a lifetime. I did cover the jar with a sandwich bag and an elastic band, but does anyone have any other ideas?

I was going to suggest plastic wrap and elastic band... so your a couple of steps ahead of me.

You could alway transfer the PB into a (or a couple of) pastic containers...
