Well, I was digging through some old digital photos which I had never really tried going back to see if they could be cleaned up a bit with newer technology...I found a series of shots I took about 4 years ago while hanging at the beach waiting for an early full harvest moon rise. ; I still had my old Sony 717 cam, it was warm (which doesn't do sensors any favors), and my skill levels were not quite honed with manual modes. ; I hadn't really done anything with them since I first shot them way back; just sort of filed them away. ; Fortunately, I was in the habit of keeping originals...so I decided to pull up the chroma-noise and flare filled shots to see if more could be done with them using today's noise reduction, contrast enhancing, and cleanup processing software than I was able to get out of them many years ago.
They're not spectacular, but they did clean up well - and I liked the bright water reflections, cloud arrangements, and refraction colors off the moon on the clouds. ; I also had the opportunity to recrop them a tad for better composition.
Just thought I'd share, as many may never get to see moonrises over the ocean:
