A neat place to go in Kissimme (not a beach) is Old Town.....really cool shops and some rides (I haven't been there since 1996, so it may have changed but it was awesome when I was 15)
Thanks for putting me on the spot Sean. ; The pizza place you are talking about is Giordanos. ; It is right off the main drag in Kissimmee. ; Sorry, I can't remember if that is I-drive or not. ; But there is an Outback Steakhouse, TGIFridays right in the same complex. ; Then there is a Londons drugs across the street and an ARP Drugs (I think) in that complex as well. ; We love our food!!
If you do go there, remember that you don't need to order a large to feed a family. ; Sean and I could barely eat a small it was so much to eat. ; But it is good. ;
The other place I like to go to is Medieval Times. ; So much fun!!
We just booked the Choice Suite at Eastgate (Kissimmee)... so we should be there. ; I read about Old Town and it sounds cool.
We tried to book the Magicard (Orlando Tourism) rate for the hotel but now the hotel and Orlando Tourism are arguing about when their contracts expire... apparently I've stirred up a mini hornets nest. ; ;
There is also a ; Giordano's, seconds from DTD.

As for the beaches, the closest is CoCoa Beach, we've been there on day trips. You can rent chairs umbrellas and visit the original Ron Jon's Surf Shop. About a 75 min drive from WDW. 60 if my wife drives.
