For our special trip in February I have been looking forward to doing one of the resort portrait sittings for our family. Special trip, do something kind of special. We have decided to stay at Boardwalk (like we always do) instead of AKL...ah home sweet home. Since Boardwalk is our DVC home we pretty much decided on doing our shoot at Beach Club and asking for some pictures with the Boardwalk in the background - maybe someday Boardwalk will be an option. We were excited because 125 dollars including the CD with all of our photopass pics plus the sitting pics sounds good to us!

Last weekend mom and I were out shopping and even picked out shirts for our fam to wear in the pictures. I came home to find out that the price is going up 50 bucks not going up TO 50 bucks but going UP 50 bucks making it cost 75 for the sitting and the CD is still like 99 dollars! The pictures are nice but I dont know if they are 175 dollars nice!

Looking at the quality at some of the pics I think I could do better LOL. That would be a good thread - post family portraits that YOU have taken!

So were not sure were going to do it yet. I also looked at Stan Kelly's website and although it is a more personal sitting, its even MORE money!

Anyone going to be down there in early February that wants to take pics of my fam? :P

Okay ill stop rambling now!

i think there is a discount available for DVC members. probably not too great but it's still there nonetheless. i don't think i will be there in february. :(

Maybe I am crazy- but $175 for a personal sitting with a photographer and every photopass shot from your entire stay does not seem like such a bad deal to me.

Youre right about ALL the photo pass pictures at that price. The CD itself is like 99 dollars the sitting has jumped from 25 dollars to 75 dollars and the pictures arent that great. I dont know if youve seen any of the examples but some are dark or shadowy and the setups could be better. But like I said thats not bad for the chance to have some pictures of all four of us.

If my tripod was smaller/lighter i would stick it in my suitcase and then we could just walk over the the beach at BC and take some pics of our own with Boardwalk in the background. But I really dont want to have to worry about packing that and whatever...im going to be on vacation dangit!

Come on Tim. ill help get you down there since so much of our trip is paid for.....maybe you can help us eat up some of that 75 dollars per person per day food too! LOL just kidding!

P.S. everyone write to Photopass and suggest to them the next photo session resort should be Boardwalk. In my opinion its definately one of the most photogenic resorts!

I did some poking around and I found the "perks guide" online. It says 10% off a family portrait package. Whats that? same thing? I searched family portrait package on yahoo and I found an old post on DIS from like 4 years ago that had a link to samples but the link seems to be messed up or dead :(

You mean parking at the parks? Thats why we take buses. Thats why we are staying at Boardwalk (again) instead of doing something new and different and staying at AKL. We can walk to two of the four parks!

i can handle sleeping in the tub in exchange for a trip to disney world.
btw, your dvc card, room key, or AP get you free parking at the parks. DVC card gets you free valet at the resorts too.
