Did they change the location or remodel the building recently? I went back to my photos and found this from 2006.

I don't think that is the same idol.

red's photo is from the front/center of the building... the other idol is located on the left/right wings of the theater where it curves out toward the hat.

I found some historic photos of the real [blue]Grauman's Chinese Theater[/blue]. It's amazing how much Disney's copy looks like the original. (Although, given who made the copy, it shouldn't be surprising at all.)

Anyway, I'm open to criticism on how I handled this puzzler. One thing I've learned is that titles of songs that pop into my head from out of nowhere ("You came to me from out of nowhere" - Drat, it's happening again) do not necessarily make good clues.
