Here's something a little different. Shot at a faster shutter speed (1/30 sec) ISO 1600 F4. I did not want to use a tripod this time. I really like the how the smoke looks. see a large resolution image here http://www.pbase.com/catson/image/72962409/original
I'll play too. Here's a couple of my favorites from my trip this past April... http://www.pbase.com/msummers/image/825 ... iginal.jpg http://www.pbase.com/msummers/image/82505450/original.jpg http://www.pbase.com/msummers/image/843 ... iginal.jpg
Thanks guys. The overhang isn't a problem as long as you are at the railing. I almost didn't take #2 because it started to rain hard about 5 min before the fireworks were going to start... Fortunately I found an extra trash bag nearby to keep the camera dry with. Here's one more I forgot I had. http://www.pbase.com/msummers/image/843 ... iginal.jpg
Very nice! One question, where were you at when you took the ones from the lagoon. I have taken pictures from the beach at the Poly, and the trees cut off the bottom of the castle.
its from the ferry dock at the TTC. I have almost the same pic... http://themagicinpixels.com/shopping/st ... Product=18
I was thinking the same thing... heres the link to mine from the poly beach http://www.pbase.com/catson/image/78366550/original
So is the general consensus that the dock at the TTC offers the best angle for long range fireworks shooting? I'm thinking of trying that this year, but just once, so I want to get it right.
i think the ttc dock is a great place to view wishes from a distance. i love the poly beach but you get a better view of the castle from the ttc dock.
I just might have to give this a shot when I'm there in 2 weeks. Anyone know what the crowds are like on the TTC dock at the time Wishes is going off?
There was no one at the dock when I took those photos. A couple of people got off the ferry during the show, but that was it. I set up just outside the exit gate at the dock. A couple of people tried to watch the show from the exit ramp, but were told to leave by the ferry captain for their safety.
