Burnt Island Lighthouse Located at the entrance of Boothbay Harbor, Maine, this lighthouse was built in 1821.

It is the second oldest surviving lighthouse on the Maine coast. Tours, with re-enactors in period costumes, are
offered during the summer. However, the island is open for sightseeing without taking the tour.

Portland Head Lighthouse, Cape Elizabeth, Maine. Built in 1791, it is the oldest lighthouse in Maine.
There is a seasonal museum in the old keeper's house. The lighthouse is on the grounds of
Fort Williams Park, which is open year round.

Camden, Maine. Some of the boats have been 'wrapped' for winter - including the windjammers in the left center of the picture. At the turn of the last century there was a hotel on the summit of the closest hill, Mt. Battie. Currently, there is a stone observation tower at that spot. Besides an auto road to the summit, there are several hiking trails. All are part of a state park. Camden is where the 1957 movie Peyton Place was filmed.
