Remember the first time you saw Star Wars and were impressed when the Tantive IV flew over your head? Here's a close-up of the front of that model. This is a consular ship
The Chicago Museum of Science and Industry has been my favorite museum since I first visited it over 50 years ago. ; In the old days, they had a huge Lionel train layout that I loved to see. ; Some time since I visited there last, they've replaced it with an HO scale layout that represents a trip from Seattle to Chicago, complete with mountains. ; Here's the Chicago part of the layout. ; You can't see it in this shot, but there's an elevated CTA "loop" buried among the skyscrapers, just like the real Chicago. The not-so-windy city
Will this qualify for your description? Was up there for the Disney Exhibit a few weeks ago. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
When I took the shot, I was hoping the the train was going to be the "in focus" focal point of the photo. ; But alas, it was moving too fast this time around (and the group didn't want to wait for a second pass), so maybe next time. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Unlike last year, the Crunch will not be making the playoffs and they are playing for pride and future contracts. They have had some of their most entertaining contests the last five home games. ; Hope that bodes well for next season.
It's a Grand Day to share a photo of the Grand Canyon. ; With hockey season winding down, going back to my photos from my trip last Fall.
Whew...okay, I found this thread. Though it is missing my last post. Must have migrated them before the last ones. Anywho...here's another from the snowy lacrosse game last weekend.
Some more shots of Star Wars props and models on display at the Indiana State Museum. Sadly, it appears that "Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination" is no longer touring museums across the country. The blaster that can't hit the broad side of a starship. Clumsy and random Luke Skywalker concentrating on the thermal exhaust port, ably assisted by R2-D2. Use the Force, Luke Luke on a tauntaun, the latter soon to be wampa poo. Hey, steady girl

Time to visit the museum. Or, in this case, two different museums. The Treasures of the Walt Disney Archives exhibit is at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry until August 3, 2014. Presented by D23, the exhibit features many items of interest. If you can't make it to Chicago before the exhibit leaves, it's still worth a visit because the MSI is one of the best museums in the country, and a favorite of mine since I first visited there as a youngster. Here we see a maquette of Simba used by the animators of The Lion King. Everybody look right Just in time for Star Wars Day (this was posted on May the Fourth (be with you)), here's another item from the Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination exhibit that visited the Indiana State Museum in the summer of 2013. Looking? Found someone you have.
One of the larger models from that same Star Wars exhibit is this Millennium Falcon which measures four or five feet in diameter. Fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy It's large enough that they could include detail like battle damage. "Don't worry, she'll hold together."
