The Innkeeper says to Joseph, “Funny you should ask about room at the in …”

Joseph: “Funny? Funny strange? Or Funny HaHa? Do I amuse you? Am I a clown?”

Tim, I suspect my buddy Dave and I won't be going to it, so if you have any ideas to float, let us know as we will probably be up for it. I've got an AP and he's getting park hoppers, so we're good whether it's hitting another park or heading to a resort. We'd likely be up for a dinner plan that night too.

  9. My thoughts, questions for the group and a possible touring plan for the party.

Are we considering attending this party as a group or is everyone going to run nilly willy all over the party? And FYI, running willy nilly for us means we move like the arthritic sloths that we are.

If you have a park reservation you can get your party band at 5 pm at Muppet Vision or Star Wars (failure to) Launch bay. Definitely get your wristband early because you know how much fun that line will be at rush hour.

My priority is the entertainment. The top offering of this event is Disney Holidays in Hollywood in Theater of the Stars on Sunset Blvd.
Kermit and Miss Piggy host a holiday-themed musical variety show. NOW WITH MORE MUPPETS!!! Showtimes: 8:15 pm, 9:15 pm, 11:15 pm and 12:15 am. This show is so beloved that people want to see it twice. This year it's got MORE MUPPETS!!!!!

    Entertainment schedule:
    • Glisten! ice show in front of Chinese Theater Showtimes: 8:15 pm, 9:15 pm, 10:20 pm, 11:15 pm and 12:15 am
    • Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! projection show on Chinese Theater Showtime: 10 pm
    • Disney Holidays in Hollywood in Theater of the Stars on Sunset Blvd. Kermit and Miss Piggy host a holiday-themed musical variety show.Showtimes: 8:15 pm, 9:15 pm, 11:15 pm and 12:15 am
    • What's This? Nightmare Before Christmas sing-along in Hyperion Theater Showtimes: 7:30 pm, 8:30 pm, 9:30 pm, 11:30 pm and 12:30 am

7:30, the event begins. Should we start out at the Tip Top club with a cocktail to lubricate the festivities? The first set is 7:30 to 8:10. Since the (No trace of actual alcohol) Drinks that were served at 4:20 at Ogas will be wearing off I'm thinking that Tip Top is a good choice.

We can also grab a bite to eat at the following locations that are listed due to proximity to the Tipsy Top event:

    • Fairfax Fare
    • o Holiday Turkey Popover: Roasted turkey and creamy mashed potatoes topped with gravy, cranberry chutney, and chives in a house-made popover
    • o ‘Just the Sides’ Popover: Macaroni & cheese and savory collard greens with ham topped with cornbread crumbs in a house-made popover
    • o PB&J Doughnut: Glazed doughnut with creamy peanut butter and grape jelly dipped in dark chocolate topped with crushed house-made salt and vinegar chips
    • o Kermit’s Frozen Banana Bliss: Frozen banana and white chocolate with caramel swirls topped with matcha whipped cream and sprinkle (Non-alcoholic)
    • Market
    • o Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls: Fried spring rolls served with a jalapeño-ranch dipping sauce and fried rice noodles
    • o Frozone’s Snowball Macaroons: Coconut macaroons drizzled with blue vanilla frosting and topped with white snowflake sprinkles
    • o Meatball and Polenta: Giant meatball with marinara and creamy cheese polenta
    • o Olive and Goat Cheese Flatbread: Olive oil-toasted flatbread, creamy goat cheese, rustic olive and tomato spread, balsamic glaze, and lemon watercress
    • o Antipasto Flatbread: Fresh mozzarella, salami, peperoni, country ham, olives, peppers, onions, pepperoncini, and marinara
    • o Tiramisù Puff: Sweet-and-savory with flavors of espresso, chocolate, and a coffee-infused custard and mascarpone cream
The next closest entertainment is Muppets at the Theater of the Stars. It might make sense to try for that next but I don't have a sense of the crowds or the length of time for the shows.

8:00pm get in line for Muppets Holidays in Hollywood @ theater of the Stars Show starts at 8:15 (Now w
ith an enormous amount of Muppets in it!!!)
9:15pm Catch the Glisten Ice show (the vibes are immaculate!)
10:00 Jingle bell bam boom (Perhaps an occasional Muppet?)
11:30 Nightmare B4 Xmas sing along (Sadly, this one is Muppet free :()
12:15 Muppets Holidays in Hollywood again because we need MORE MUPPETS!!!

These are just my thoughts and the actual timing is hard because we don't know exactly how long the shows are.

For those of you tempted to participate in the expensive time suck known as "Jazzy Holidays at The Hollywood Brown Derby - soft jazz, drinks and light food ADR strongly recommended" the overwhelming consensus is to skip it because getting in and getting served takes a lot longer than people anticipate and the offerings inside are lackluster at best. From what I can tell Disney, is just putting dollar store lipstick on this pig and charging Saks Fifth Avenue prices for it. Between Tip top and the Brown Derby, IMHO, Tip Top is the better adventure.

As for food, there are other (2023) locations listed in my previous post, so you can get your fill of Sardines on Funnel Cake (with sea foam!!) or whatever the hell Food Services is trying to fool the public into thinking is fine dining.

There is also dance party entertainment but, depending on how many beers Jersey John (Travolta) @jbwolffiv has, we might get a little too close to those dancing feet.

So am I missing anything? Does anyone else have a plan?

What could go wrong? Are we moving as amorphous group or is it every Pixelmaniac for themselves?

Tune in to this thread for more thoughts and information (? inspiration??)

Underground Tourist recommended avoiding Sunset Boulevard early, as it was quite crowded at the beginning of the event.
They recommended going to the last performance of either Glisten! or Holidays in Hollywood.
Alternatively, they said that you can line up really early for the first Holidays show in Hollywood to get good seats. The same plan can be used for any of the HiH shows. (I suggest lining up 30 to 45 minutes before show time, if they'll let us, so we can get the best seats possible.)
They said that the Nightmare sing-along was most crowded at the first show, so any show after that is a good choice.
Basically, it's just like any other special event or day a a park: The closer it gets to closing time, the fewer people there are. Of course, a Saturday evening may be more crowded than a Wednesday due to locals who don't have to go to work the next day..

To assist in planning, here is a chronological list of the main events.

    7:30 pm Twilight Soiree
    7:30 pm What's This?
    8:10 pm Twilight Soiree
    8:15 pm Holidays in Hollywood
    8:15 pm Glisten!
    8:30 pm What's This?
    8:50 pm Twilight Soiree
    9:15 pm Holidays in Hollywood
    9:15 pm Glisten!
    9:30 pm Twilight Soiree
    9:30 pm What's This?
10:00 pm Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!
    10:20 pm Glisten!
    10:30 pm Twilight Soiree
    11:10 pm Twilight Soiree
    11:15 pm Holidays in Hollywood
    11:15 pm Glisten!
    11:30 pm What's This?
    11:50 pm Twilight Soiree
    12:15 am Holidays in Hollywood

One of my priorities to mix into whatever plan we do… is to get some of the more obscure character meet-n-greets… but especially Chip and Dale in their Rescue Ranger Outfits.

Disney is starting to change the park hours. The new hours for Dec. 6 and 7 show that MK opens at 8 am and closes at 11 pm on non-party nights, DHS opens at 8:30 am and DAK closes at 8 pm. Let's hope those hours carry over through Pixelmania.

  16. Tom Bricker posted an article here with a touring plan and Character meet advice.
    https://www.disneytouristblog.com/jollywood-nights-itinerary-christmas-party-plan-best/

From what I gather, his Touring plan TL: DR is this (Note: the following is not a character meet centered touring plan)

@7:30 What’s this ends at 7:52 pm Proceed IMMEDIATELY to
@8:15 pm Holidays in Hollywood Muppets
    @8:50 pm Twilight Soiree
Between the Twilight Soirée and Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!, you have almost an 1/2 hour to do whatever, maybe set up for Fireworks shots? or see 9:30 pm What's This? again
@10:00 pm Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!
    @11:15 pm Glisten!
@12:15 am Holidays in Hollywood Muppets AGAIN because MUPPETS!

Read the article and see if his thinking makes sense for a possible touring plan for us. @RedOctober25 Tom has good advice about the characters that might help you out.

    lemme know what youse think.

My only concern is the short time between What's This and Muppets. Some of us move quickly and some don't. Let's give it a shot and adjust if necessary.

  18. That's why I was thinking to add the additional Muppets as the last thing.

We will also have time to hit the lockers to get tripods before Jingle Bell Bop Bam Boom and stash them back afterwards.

Our biggest concern will be not losing @jbwolffiv every time we pass a beer cart that is featuring beers flavored with the various types of Christmas trees. You know how he has a weakness...

I think I might skip What's This as that movie I could not even get through, not my thing. I can do the beer cart run at that time :). I am all for seeing the Muppets twice.

I also think we should do Muppet Vision 3D during the day as the longer we go not knowing where Monstropolis is going I feel it will be Muppets Courtyard.

I like that we have about an hour between Jingle Bell, Jingle Bam and Glisten, thats a great opportunity for us to stand around and discuss what we should be doing BUT not actually moving to do those said things ;)
