Like I said, now with confirmation of the alternate hike, I'm in. ; Just tell me when and where to send the money. ; Either 8 or 8:45 is fine with me (whatever the group consensus is). Sent from my iPhone...
I will plan to call back on Monday and ask about payment. ; I did notice online that no one under 8 years old is allowed. ; Older kids need an adult with them. Let me know if any other questions come to mind and I will bring those up when I call.
Paul, ; can you also ask them if they have a space to store large backpacks that don't fit in the lockers?
Mike - if your bag does not fit in one of the lockers then CMs can place your stuff behind the counter and staff is always present to monitor. ; Another option is to rent a locker at the front of the park and store some stuff there as well. Regarding booking a trip. ; If we have a group of 12 or more we can call the special number (407-938-1373) to block out an entire vehicle. ; CM advised us to call them to arrange this although he did say the regular tour number (407-WDW-TOUR) can book a full group as well. If one person calls to reserve a block of twelve, they will need the entire payment. ; If each individual calls, then you run the risk of other groups calling and getting a spot within "our" tour. Current availability on 12/9: 0845 10 spots left 0930 10 spots left 1015 12 spots left rest of the day was wide open
Great idea Dennis! That would be better approach than one of us trying to coordinate getting payment from one another and then booking the tour.
Do we have an official list of who's on board for the tour? ; I think it is as follows so far... 8:45 Tour... 1) Tim 2) Gary 3) PolynesianMedic (Jeff) 4) ddIndy (Dennis) 5) Paul 6) RedOctober (Jeff) - ALT. EXP. 7) Karen ??8.) ELinder?? - ALT. EXP.?? 9-10) John-Sue Wolff 11) Michael summers Sent from my iPhone...
Jeff, where was the link that describes the alternate experience? I would tentatively say I'm in. Not sure if I could negotiate the wide spacing of the missing bridge planks, but I'd be willing to give it a try. I imagine the guides would be able to advise me beforehand. However, unless the abbreviated course price is less than the full experience, I'm not sure it's really worth it. Erich
Erich, ; they have a "test" bridge that you have to make it across at the check-in area for the tour to make sure you can make it across the real ones. ; I read on a tour review that since the test bridge is much shorter than the real ones, it doesn't shake nearly as bad as the real ones. Assuming I found the same review Jeff found, they didn't really describe the alternate experience other than to say that the first portion of the tour completely bypassed the bridges, but picked up with the regular tour for the safari and snack portions of the tour. ; Disney doesn't describe the alternate tour anywhere other than to say that one exists.
So how do we want to handle making the reservations et cetera. Is it better if we all just call and sign ourselves up or do you guys want to PayPal someone the money and that person can call I make the reservation for everyone?
I am putting a call into the reservation line to find out about the alternate experience. Sent from my iPhone...
Folks, lets fish or cut bait. ; How are we going to handle the arrangements? ; Does someone want to handle making the arrangements that we can all PayPal the money to do this gets done? ; At this time I would prefer to go earlier but if it means going a little bit later gets us all together, then I don't have any objection. I would offer to handle all of this myself, but I am in Disney World until August 9 and don't want to run the risk of something getting messed up. As soon as we have a point person, we should all get on this right away instead of waiting and possibly losing out. ;
