That's what I seem to recall too - when they went through an identity crisis and started trying to draw more folks to the park - getting rid of or toning down the EPCOT, future, community, science, and tech edge that made the place, and putting in more ride/kid/family-friendly stuff. ; Sad, as all the original theming was what made EPCOT my favorite park, and what still draws me to the place now, even if I have to hunt down some of the original, educational, scientific, world and travel stuff among all the kid games, music, and entertainment stuff.
