Conventions are not just about cosplay. On Saturday night during the Cincinnatic Comic Con, the convention hosts a Drink & Draw event. Various artists attending the convention gather at a designated location and draw whatever they like. The first two years, the event was held at the Cincinnati Museum Center's Museum of Natural History & Science, located in the Cincinnati Union Terminal building. I wandered throught the museum that night and stumbled across this Allosaurus fragilis charging through the undergrowth.

Today marks the open day of Gen Con 2018, the extremely huge gaming convention that takes over downtown Indianapolis the way that SDCC takes over San Diego. (The name Gen Con is short for Geneva Convention; the first few events were held in Geneva, Wisconsin.)

I missed last year's con because I was in Hawaii, and I haven't bothered to process anything from 2016, so I'm getting in my TARDIS and going back five years to a gathering of Doctors Who.
