WDW now offering free WiFi? !

According to WDWmagic, most of the Deluxe and DVC resorts on property will begin providing free, in-room WiFi access starting today. There is some speculation that this has to do with the upcoming implementation of the "NextGen" technology, which will likely require frequent internet access when planning a WDW vacation.

The complete list of resorts receiving WiFi is below:

Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Disney’s BoardWalk Resort
Disney’s Contemporary Resort
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Now if we could get them to offer it in the parks, we would be golden! LOL. ; I am glad that they are finally offering this though.
 
It will definitely come in handy for pixelmania. ; Plus it just about guarantees I will never go over my tethering data plan.

The only annoying part is that every time you open up the internet you get the disclaimer screen. ; But hey... free, so I can live with it.

I think it will be. ; My interpretation is that is being rolled out deluxe and DVC first and then it will trickle it's way down.

so as a dvc room, casa gary may not have it in place for pixelmania??, beach club resort is a very distinct place, all we share with them is the pool and busses, although what a pool it is

I have found out however that the iPad (as it is now) will not replace a laptop when taking lots of photos. ; Takes way to long to do everything that needs to be done (parse/watermark/upload to cloud). ; The wifi has helped a little though (so i dont have to use the airport express router)...
 
Correct you are but for web and email and the like it's the perfect solution. As far as copying and editing photos on the like, yes you definitely need a laptop.

that said, most of us had no problems getting on and keeping online. ; my laptop, iphone, and ipad did just fine.
 
Macbook air, wifi stayed up all rest of pixelmania, keyboard n trackpad, in and out, currently out. Have 2 resets to try, for software fix, if not successfull have appt at apple store thursday am, still under warranty so should be covered
