Vancouver, BC, need reccomendations....................

As friends will be continuing onto Alaska have decided to spend only one day/night in Vancouver.

Can anyone recommend a good hotel?

And what a must do's while there?
 
Do they want to stay down town? What is there budget? What do they like to do for activities?
 
I have an 11:00 a.m. flight out so would you recommend staying downtown or by the airport?

Love to shop but love farmer type markets, etc....Want to do the bridge. ; Budget depends on how much I haven't spent!LOL ; Mid range, clean, doesn't have to be fancy!
 
Ok, so during my research, found that not too many rooms available for my one night stay......

Ended up booking the Comfort Inn on Nelson Street. ; Any thoughts?
 
Have decided this is a good location since it's around the corner from two attractions that are a must do whilst in Vancouver.............BeardPapa and Japadog!LOL
