OK guys. I finally broke down & ordered the TMIP approved rig. Belbon Luxi-L II Tripod with the Manfrotto Pistol Grip head. Should have it just in time for the DHS photo walk sponsored by Scott later this month.

; And yes Tim, this was indeed a B & H purchase. ; ;)
 
Funny how that works. ; I just ordered the same tripod from them yesterday. ; Holding off on the head replacement as I can get it locally and immediately when the time is right. ; I hope it comes with a case as gary said his came with one when he bought it from them.
 
Yeah, I've been seeing these posts the last few days about this rig & I thinks it's exactly what I've been looking for. I should have know that though, seeing as the gang here sure knows their equipment. Thanks for the recommendation guys.
 
If I recall, the tripod comes with a small zipper bag that just big enough to hold the tripod and the head. ; If needed, the Slik tripod bags at B&H work just fine as well and are very inexpensive. ;
