Splash Mountain Nighttime

Dug up this old shot, taken handheld with an ultra-compact small sensor camera, my T100. ; I had never processed it because it was too dark - I was on a business trip and only had this camera with me, and being a photographer at heart, I saw the moon and clouds behind the mountain as I was walking past and had to give it the old college try. ; After some processing, you can at least get an idea of what the scene was - if anything it inspires me to try to be there next time with my DSLR and a tripod, and get this scene again!:

True, it doesn't hurt to try. ; And you'll love the feeling of trying to get it again. ; I know that feeling.
 
That'll be the hardest part to recreate! ; I hope I can get a night where the moon is on that same schedule so I can get it there. ; It's what made me want to try the shot, even with my little subcompact!
 
On our recent trip we finally rode Splsah at night and it was fantastic. ; Not sure why we never got to do this before, maybe not wanting to get wet at night had something to do with it. ; But we were heading out of the park and decided to do it this time and it was worth the wait. ; Not only is the ride very enjoyable, but the views of the park (especially the castle) were fantastic. ; Now I will have to keep in mind of getting some shots of Splash at night
 
You know, I've never ridden it at night. ; I always enjoyed BTMRR at night...and that doesn't even have the expansive views (though it's fun when the riverboat is all lit up and passing by). ; I may have to try that too.
 
It does (or did) over here...Haven't checked if it does anymore...but I remember it when I was younger and almost lived on BTMRR. ; I honestly don't know if it still runs at night over here.
 
Last few times I've been to MK at night the Belle is always parked. ; However that would make the twilight[nb]not the movie or book[/nb] last run of the evening even more special.

Same here. ; I don't think I've ever been on it at night. ; Although I do remember reading somewhere that in the past they have operated it at night during MNSSHP.
 
yes, during the halloween party, they run it as a haunted cruise or something like that.
I'm not sure of the details at all.
 
I can't figure out why...but of all the places in Disney I've overlooked for night shots, Frontierland seems to lead the list. ; I do night shots in MK all the time, but tend to hit Main Street, Castle, and Tomorrowland the most. ; I need to make a concerted effort to get over to Adventureland and Frontierland for night shots on this next trip.
 
I can understand. My last trip back in January was the first time I did any night shots in Frontierland. Diamond Horseshoe & Liberty Belle. I also got one of the sign for "it's a small world" over in Fantasyland. Previously, I never thought of doing any night shots there. I think the biggest reason is that was my first trip with my DSLR. ; :)
 
Yeah...I guess it just doesn't stand out or 'advertise' as a night shooting location. ; Coming up main street, firing away night shots, then to the castle, firing away night shots...then you see all of that luscious neon beckoning you over to Tomorrowland. ; So I think I just forget to try going left for a change when I'm doing night shots!
