Osborne Lights using Rear Sync flash

I set my Nikon SB-600 flash power to -3.0 and put my camera in Rear Sync flash mode. In this mode, the flash fires just before the shutter closes. No tripod was used as I relied on the Nikon 18-200VR lens and lots of polls, garbage cans and posts.

I think these bikes need some air in their tires.

Very cool.
I used slow flash on the bbq scene too.
I like the fence with the hoop in the background, neat idea.

Thanks, Craig! The basketball hoop was behind the fencing so I didn't have much choice but liked how the flash lite it up. I'll have to remember that when I am faced with such an obstacle in the future.

Here are a few of mine (some already posted) that I used "slow" flash on.

This first one is from 2007 when I first discovered the "night portrait" setting. This photo is handheld at over 1 second long! Yikes, luckily Vr worked ok-ish. Photos like these made me decide to figure out how to manually work "slow" flash on my own. If you look at the exif, I am at iso100! Why would I ever shoot in the dark at iso100 handheld?

And here are a couple more with slow flash.

And this of me and Dina I used my own settings for slow flash. I used "slow" flash at iso2000 with a big F-stop to create a fast shutter speed. I wound up with a 1/90 shutter speed, so I could have only gone to iso1600, but it doesn't really matter!
