MK in W I D E mode

Part of my January 2010 trip to Disney, in which I made much use of my Tamron 10-24mm lens throughout the parks...I had shot in Epcot exclusively wide for the entire day and evening, and decided to try the same in MK. ; My mission was unfortunately cut short due to rain that day, forcing me to put away the DSLR and break out my ultracompact and waterproof case for the rest of the shooting. ; But I was able to get in a few hours walking around with the wide lens looking for stuff to shoot (I had met up with Stitch from these boards, and was squeezing in wide scenics while we also hunted for letters and numbers to shoot!). ; Here are some of the wide MK shots I got:

I really wanted to play with the size and scale of the liberty tree when standing underneath it...wide angle gives a cool view:

Couldn't help the ugly skies - they were pure grey and white, rainy and undefined! ; But it wasn't going to stop me from shooting:

However the steady rain that began to fall was enough to stop me shooting, at least with the DSLR. ; I pulled out the trusty TX1 compact in my waterproof case and used that to shoot the parade...which of course was canceled due to rain. ; Fortunately, Disney has a separate, special parade for those occasions:

I like the angles and subjects you choose. Really digging all the shots around the Liberty Tree.

Did you try any of your in-camera HDR with that sky? ;

I did actually...but I didn't think about it until I did the liberty tree shot from under the tree. ; That one would have been a full-on silhouette, but using the HDR gave me some good detail on the 'houses' and shops and the tree trunk...though the sky color was pretty much white-grey anyway, so no amount of tricks could expose that very much differently.

Thanks for the complements. ; There's lots of cool details and structures around Liberty Square - in better weather I'd like to get back there and hunt for more.

Like those pics. ; How did you get the pics to expand in the post?

That's the famous (infamous) "expando" command...in the reply toolbar, it's the one right next to the image insert. ; It's basically the same as the [ img ][ /img ] tags, but replace "img" with "expando".

Thanks Paul. ; That's actually the first time I ever photographed it, surprisingly, considering how often I go. ; I'm still amazed that I can find things I've not shot before every time I go.
