Dinner Help

My wife and I are celebrating our 10 yr wedding anniversary on June 24th. ; We will be without the kids. ; I am searching for a romantic dinner destination. ; Something preferably at one of the resorts (Not Grand Floridian or Wilderness Lodge). ; Any thoughts? ;

Also, my wife hates seafood. ; ;D

I think your only issue might be getting a reservation this close to the date. ; But if you do, Artist's Point is a very nice place. ; Especially if you can get a table by their huge picture Windows that look out over the pool and on to Bay Lake.

i would suggest cali grill at the contemporary. early reservations may be "easier" to get last minute.

the back room doesnt have the view of the castle, but it does have great views of bay lake, wilderness lodge, epcot, and orlando. it is also MUCH quieter than the main dining room.
 
I was going to suggest Artist's Point or Victoria & Albert's, but since you have excluded those two resorts, I will second Craig's suggestion of the California Grill. ;
 
I'll throw in a vote for Jiko, at AK Lodge. ; That's hands-down my favorite restaurant on Disney property (love Cali Grill and Artist's Point too). ; Food is fantastic and creative, appetizers wonderful, desserts and the excellent Kenyan coffee afterwards, wonderful South African wines, nice atmosphere...and I personally always like the general atmosphere at AK Lodge too - lots of great places for walking, lounging, reading and looking at artifacts and photos, etc.
 
hmmm, I would second Jiko now! MUCH better food at Jiko, there seems to always be photopass people in the lobby when we are there, and like Justin said, the resort is wonderful to walk around after dinner. Our best dinner ever at WDW was at jiko in August 2008. the food and the atmosphere afterward has never been duplicated on property!
 
Oh, and BTW...I ate there Jun 4 on my trip up - no reservations - just drove over, dropped my name and had a table in 10 minutes. ; It's often not terribly crowded due to price (it takes up two credits on the 'meal plan' so that leaves the space usually open more to adults, sans kids, without meal plans, doing the 'upscale' thing). ; You should be able to get in with a week or two notice unless you happen to be there during some special event at WDW.
 
I would second or third or whatever we are up to for the California Grill. ; We had our wedding night dinner there when my wife and I got married there. ; I would also agree with Jiko and Victoria and Alberts. ; The latter of the two is a little pricey but VERY nice and does require a jacket and tie for men, and I believe a cocktail dress or more for women.
 
Guess I misread the request. ; Anyway, the Wine Room at California Grill is very nice. ; Took my parents there for their Anniversary. ; Even at fireworks time the room was not overcrowded. ; And being on the backside looking towards Epcot we got to see a little of Illuminations as well (although it is kinda late for dinner). ; I also second/third the nomination for Jiko on atmosphere alone. ; If you go at the right time, plan on going out to the fire pit for African Folktales after you eat. ; The conversations with the Student Cast I had was worth the time in and of itself.

My first thought was the same as many others, California Grill. ; If that is a no go then Jiko is also a great place. ; We also loved Yatchmans Steakhouse in the Yatch Club. ; I had a great steak and service was terrific too. ; This was back in 2006, but I wonder if it is hard to get an ADR for it (I am thinking not). ; Whatever you choose will be great, since you'll be in WDW!
 
Sanaa is definitely a great place to eat, but is not necessarily as intimate as Cali or Jiko. ; Again, as with Jiko, schedule a dinner time around that of the Folktales at the campfire. ; Just keep in mind that Jiko is a little more "Indian" than "African" (or at least similar to "Moroccan")
 
Thanks for all the suggestions. ; They are all great places. ; We are doing something at the Top of the World Lounge and Kouzzina at Boardwalk. ; Should be fun!
 
Kouzzina is another great restaurant. ; Met my Boss there for Dinner last October shortly after the restaurant opened. ; The better part is that you can hang out on the boardwalk after the meal and make a whole evening of it.
