Oh, to be there again. Not the greatest photo, but it was so relaxing just sitting out on the hammocks and feeling the warm sun. I won't have palm trees this long weekend, but it is going to be hot, hot hot!!

Here is one of the quiet pool right beside the building we were staying at. No one ever used it but us.

i think that caribbean beach is the one resort i have never set for on.... it really looks nice and from what i hear it puts coronado to shame.

Tim it is nice. My family used to stay there before we bought DVC and it was great with two kids about 8 and 9 each building has its own pool plus theres a big pool and a beautiful food court that was a distance away from some of the buildings but not far enough away that mom and dad wouldnt let my sister and I walk there to refill our mugs by ourselves.

Uhh that is one resort my wife and I will never set foot in again....too many bad experiences/problems on one trip there.
 
Back in the day Caribbean Beach was one of my family's standard resorts. That and Dixie Landings (back when it was called that) were our two standards that we'd trade off on.

For negatives I'll say that some of the room buildings are a bit far from the food court building, it can be a long walk in the morning to get breakfast. And it can take a while for the Disney buses to pass through all the bus stops, so if you're taking Disney transportation it can be a bit frustrating waiting either for your stop to come up or for the bus to clear all the other stops before heading out to the parks.

On the positive side, I love the theming of the place. Dixie Landings (now known as Port Orleans Riverside) is nice too, I have nothing against it, but the Caribbean theming of Caribbean Beach appeals to me more. Their main themed pool has a delightful old coastal fortification look, almost looking like "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Pool". And I still remember eating breakfast at Old Port Royale (the food court building) while listening to steel drum music. Animal Kingdom Lodge, my new standard, has many advantages, but African tribal music just can't compete with steel drums in my book.

Dan, good point about the buses. Once we stayed in I think Trinidad South or something like that it was the last stop! It sucked as an 8 year old who had been at the Magic Kingdom all day! You can bet those lines were long too since there was one bus for the whole resort! Im just glad Yacht and Beach finally got their own bus. Sometimes I wish Swan and Dolphin would get their own bus too becasue the loop around to Boardwalk can be a long one!

The Caribbean Beach pics are making me want to leave now. :D Instead I have to wait 3 more weeks. I am looking forward to staying there. We could not get into the Coronado and had to "settle" for the CB.

A tip that may or may not help you on your trip. Like I said A LOT of people are going to be waiting for the CB bus since it covers all of the buildings. We had a similar problem with Boardwalk. After Wishes exit by walking (or running) on the sidewalk. Its faster - believe me. People with strollers cant get on the sidewalks so theyre leaving by walking down the street!
