Camera Armor: Has anyone used it?

I was thinking about it for my 5d but just don't want to send the money on it right now.
 
What exactly is the purpose of this stuff ? Just to protect against scratches and bumps ? It's not supposed to be the equivalent of weather sealing, is it ?

I'm not sure of the value, but I've got to say that camouflage version would look pretty hilarious. It might be the only way to make my family think my camera is even MORE intrustive and obnoxious than they already do.

weatherproofing = no
