I've been using a BlackRapid RS-4 strap for almost a year. ; I was annoyed to find that the part of the strap where the camera normally hangs was starting to fray. ; I contacted BlackRapid customer service, and, even though the strap was out of warranty, within three days a replacement strap arrived.

It's obvious that they've made improvements since my original purchase. ; I can't wait to put the new strap to work.

I've completely switched over to my BlackRapid strap because I like it so much. ; It's nice having the camera out of the way but still easily accessible. ; The only down side is that after a long day in the parks with the 70-200 2.8, my left shoulder gets a little sore. ;)
 
Yeah, I'm ok with that, as I use my "regular" strap and carry it on one shoulder now anyway, I like the idea that this is more secure then that but accessible.

For years before I came up with my camera harness, I used a standard strap, lengthened for cross-body use. I had the same problem, even with a light-weight camera/lens combo - one shoulder would get sore. I found that it was not all that difficult to switch to the other shoulder; bringing the camera up with my left hand instead of my right hand worked just as well. My left hand instinctively found the shooting position on the lens when I reached for the camera.
 
I've thought about switching sides, but have never had the courage to try it.

Maybe I need to ask BlackRapid to consider adding a little more padding.
