Bell hanging from the pagoda in Epcot's Japan pavilion. While I think this is a Hidden Mickey, Hidden Mickey Guy Steve Barrett feels it is not. You sure, Steve?

  8. Good one, John. ; I like how your composed to give it a "full" feeling. ; I think too much of Victoria Gardens appears flat and empty.

Here's an attempt to save one ruined by noise. ; Just convert to b&w and call it "grain", right?

A pretty window display in the China pavilion. ; When I took the photo, I thought the things on the right were firecrackers, but upon closer examination, they aren't. ; A research trip is now necessary.

They look like they could be a bell. ; There is on on the lower left of the string that looks like it has a clapper inside it. ; So powder free firecrackers if you will...

I agree. ; I'll definitely take a closer look in the shop when I'm there in October.

Another change coming to Epcot: ; our friend Masayo reports that Miyuki, the candy lady from Japan, will be leaving WDW right before Thanksgiving. ; If you'll be in Epcot between now and then, be sure to stop and admire her handiwork.

is she retiring, or is she being cut because she can't show a positive revenue stream. I,d be OK with retirement. she deserves it. seems to be old enough, and she's been there at least since 89 which is when i,'m pretty sure I first watched her

  15. It's sad to see another of one of Disney's great performers moving on for whatever reason. I'd like to see her stay and Disney add more entertainment but it seems like these extras are being thinned out and nothing is replacing them.

    :(

more so sad because I have to believe current management will not replace her with any other talent/show

I don't know the reason she's leaving - I'll have to ask Masayo if she knows. ; I do know that Miyuki will still be active. ; Watch her web site for news: ; www.candymiyuki.com
