PIXELMANIA 2022 Dec 7th (Wed.) to Sunday Dec. 11th

Bay Lake also gives us a couple of options for post-fishing breakfast as well (if we decide to do so).

Wait...did you just say 'post fishing breakfast'? I just got dizzy and almost fell over. How early do you people get up to fish!!?? I'd consider breakfast an optional 10am to noon thing, and then fishing AFTER that. Might as well just go fishing the night before and don't bother going to bed. You could catch the fish by just grabbing them off the bottom of the lake, as they'll all be asleep! ;)

The earlier fishing time (and better success rate) at Disney is 7am to 9am… and coming from a guy that won’t even rope-drop, appreciate the miracle [emoji1787]. Though it makes for a very long day if you throw Bob into the mix on Pre-meet night.

I’m pretty sure you qualify for sainthood now. You’ve made it to the dock in time for fishing three Pixelmanias in a row.

I’ll be there, probably Friday 12/2- Monday 12/11. Might have to work remotely Monday & Tuesday to preserve enough vacation days for next year. I keep finding new annual events to add to the calendar... Too much to photograph and so little (vacation) time.

Count me in for fishing.

Dave & Gillian, sorry you won’t make it this year. See you in 2023.

John, enjoy Italy. We’ll miss you at Casa de Gary.

Oh, and for those who didn’t notice like me, the Southwest booking window is open for December.
 
So we are set with the plans for fishing. The date is that Wednesday morning 12/7/22 before the start of Pixelmania. The boat line up for boat one is full with Joanie, Red, Gary Faucon, Michael and his Dad, Mr. Summers. After fishing we will head over to the wave for breakfast, if we can get the reservation.

If there are other people that want to go fishing, they will have to set up their own boat rental and breakfast reservation. I can give you the details and the information as to how to do that.

I'm not sure about the rates that Disney is charging for the boat this year since everything experienced a price hike at Disney, but I can give you the number to call to make the reservation.

The boats can take a maximum of five people and it's one price for the boat which you would divide up into the five people that are going.

There is also the tip that you would give the guide. FYI: this is pretty much the only money that these guys make so we tend to be on the generous side with the tip. Disney only pays them for 2 hours of work which is ridiculous because a lot of them drive in just for that 2 hour period. They might get lucky if they get a second charter in the afternoon, but usually that doesn't happen, so the tip is important for those guys.

The Park of the day for PIXELMANIA is as follows and it MAY CHANGE. Make those park reservations as soon as you are able.

Wednesday Dec. 7th: Topalinos for the pre Pixelmania meal. This plan is pending the successful acquisition of a reservation.
The planning board is responsible for making restaurant reservations.

Thursday Dec. 8th : Epcot
Friday Dec. 9th: DHS
Saturday Dec. 10th: MK
Sunday: Dec. 11th AK

We will reveal restaurant reservations after we are able to make them.

The planning board has decided NOT to do Mickey's Very Merry Xmas party DURING the Pixelmania dates (Wed. the 7th to Sunday the 11th).

If you wish to go to the party you can opt to go during Pixelmania and miss out on the group's plan for that night OR go on a night that is before or after the Pixelmania dates.

The options for pre or post Pixelmania Xmas party are: Tuesday Dec 6th or Tuesday Dec. 13th. If you come earlier or stay later there will be more party dates for you to choose from if you with to go.

I'll post a separate poll to see if anyone wants to go on the other nights.

@Joanie Eddis-Koch Michele and I are doing MVCP on the 8th, she’s never been and wants to go. We’ll join in the rest of the park days. And Pre Meet Dinner if it’s on the 6th. And please include us in dining reservations, except the 8th . Thank you

I'm in for exactly the designated nights...I'm probably driving up Wednesday 12/7 around noon, which puts me there around 3pm to check in, unpack, and head out. Topolino's should be easy for me as I'm staying at Boardwalk and can just gondola over. I drive home Monday AM.

I MAY have a guest - still working on the details...my college roommate and best friend is trying to work out coming to Disney for this trip - he's gone through a tough fight with cancer and hasn't been to Disney in 4-5 years now...really wants to get back. As soon as I know for sure, I'll confirm here so I can add a +1 to any reservations. If he's 80% sure but still not a lock, I may try to add a +1 for him on a few dinners if that's OK with everyone - with the small chance something causes him to have to cancel out. If that's a problem, let me know and we'll figure it out.
