Thanks all. ; Dan, I do believe it was in Glencoe. ; I used my GPS so I wasn't really paying attention to the City names, but it was north and east of Niles (where I was staying). ; It was definitely bigger than I had expected (a long and narrow tract instead of a large rectangle). ; I didn't go on them, but they have some native grass trails that could feasibly add a few miles to your walk around the gardens.
Hula: ; This is one of my favorite photos as well. ; I think that the out of focus background makes the flower "pop" all that much more. ; I am in the process of uploading all my photos to Flickr (only have a small percentage of the more than 63,000 photos on my PC uploaded) and will post my photos from the Missouri Botanical Gardens and Sarasota Jungle Gardens soon. ; I used to make a yearly trip to at least one zoo and botanical garden, but work has kinda cut back on that.
Scott: There are a few other shots of this butterfly from diferent angles, but thought that this one is the best of them. ; I also looked a little closer and realized it should be named Symmetry in-motion as the wings of the butterfly ARE symmetrical (or at least the markings). ; I could believe that "he" just sat there on the flower while I was up in his grill taking photos. ; The only downside was that while passing through the wooded area to get to this garden I was attacked by a Blackbird protecting a nest.
