Here's one from our recent trip to California this past Spring. Although the Electrical Parade has been running in DCA for a while, it'll always be the Main Street Electrical Parade to me. ;D

  3. I didn't know they still have the original Main Street Electrical Parade in DCA. Makes me want to go there even more (although unlikely for at least another couple of years).

    Except for one tiny detail.

it's not the Main Street Electrical Parade anymore.

They changed the name. This photo was from opening night at DCA.

Great shots, ilene & Roger (especially considering that they were probably hand-held).

The only thing that bothers me is when I see someone write "DCA", I think of Reagan Nat'l Airport in Washington, DC.

    Thanks Scott.

Yes, that one was with my then-work's Olympus C2020 - 2.1 megapixels in all of its glory.

    ISO 400, it had a fast aperture for a consumer p&s - 2.0-2.8

That same night I was also shooting film on a monopod. That was the day film died for me. I was handholding the Olympus though.

Most of the EP photos I've taken were on a monopod. I think I've used my monopod more at the DLR than any tripod.

  7. Sigh, when they don't change the content, why should the change the parade's name for the sake of change?

Because the Gap CEO Paul Pressler, who was once the VP in charge of Disneyland before he turned to the dark side, "retired MSEP" to make room for Light Magic.

Light Magic barely made it out of soft opening due to militant Annual Passholders who didn't like the show or the concept. But that was it. Light Magic was done.

And MSEP wasn't pulled out of retirement.

Until it went on a tour of other Disney theme parks. Especially to give Spectro some down time.

So when they brought it back, they decided that it couldn't run at Disneyland Park, or be called the same name. Otherwise the "retired" statement would be wrong.
