Here's a thread to post your photos from this attraction!
Good old Ripley, still holding down the Nostromo:
It's back...the view down Hollywood Blvd. sans BAH and Stage.

I can't wait to see this again in person! Nice shot!

Here's a closer view. You can see planters which are hiding what's left of the stage setup. Hopefully, these will be gone soon and they won't find a reason to put the stage back up until next year's Star Wars Weekends.
Just got many of the same types of shots, day and dusk, this weekend. Sure was nice to come up the main drag and see the Chinese Theater and not the BAH!
The planters still there?
No more planters. The raised area is still there, but just has a metal handrail around it, with stairs to the left and right where you can walk up onto the raised area - I took a few shots from down below the raised section, and a few ultrawides from on the raised area. There's a newly planted flower garden between the raised area and the theater entrance.
Looking forward to seeing your photos of the area out front and the garden.
I'll be working on downloading and sorting the photos from Disney tonight, but will probably take me the next 3 nights or so to get through them all and finish any light touch-ups, crops, etc. I only have a few dozen RAW to deal with from dark rides, so most of the rest are JPGs that require very little or no post-processing, so I should have the entire batch processed and uploaded by the weekend.
As promised, here are some shots from the new stage area where the BAH used to be - and the new views of the Chinese theater...
Here's a shot right in front of the raised stage area - at eye level...I'm shooting just over a low line of little plants behind a 3-foot-high raised platform area - lots of people were just sitting there, which is why I got up close to take the shot without them in it:
Step up on that raised stage/platform area, and walk right to the end of that black railing, and you can shoot right up close to the theater, with just a newly planted garden right in front:
A handheld shot at nighttime - with a fortuitous moon placement:
I didn't bother to bring a tripod on this trip, since there's really not a strong desire to stand around taking minutes long exposures when it's 90 degrees, humid, sweaty, and chance of rain every day (though it never did rain!). Long-exposure work is much nicer in the winter months when it's a little cooler - so all my night shoots in summer and early fall are handheld.
Close, wide and de-colorized.

Here's yet another boring shot of GMR without the hat.
As Michael Eisner intended
B&W, a little film grain look:
Another one from outside. This is the view with the Star Wars stage in the way.
