Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress

My father and I had bailed on the second day right after the Spitfire flew, which meant we would skip the bombers and the P-51's (we saw them the day before. ; We had to take a bus back to our car which was on the other side of the airport. ; Little did we know that the bombers would fly their passes right pas our car which was on a hill at the end of the runway. ; It allowed me to grab these shots of the B-17 (and some of the shots of the B-25' I posted already)

Scott, I think I like these much better than the ones I got last year.

What luck! ; The light on this pass is just beautiful.

Forts have always been a favorite of mine, mainly because my dad was a B-17 mechanic just after the war. ; He also flew as a flight engineer on training flights out of Sebring, FL. ; He says his main job was to make sure everyone had a parachute and oxygen.

More excellent shots! I'm hoping to see Sentimental Journey in 2 weeks. She'll be doing rides, so I going to try to get some in flight shots as she goes out.

Erich

Thanks Erich! ; Good luck when you get the chance to shoot it, live to see how you do!
