Dan, I think they're looking at TVs where you won't need glasses; think of a HDTV version of the 7" monitor Fuji released for their 3D camera. That's why there will have to be a new Blu-Ray spec, and HDMI is already getting ready for it in the next gen spec as well.
I saw it in IMAX 3D and it was ; Awesome!!!!! ; I think that everyone needs to see this on the big screen because not seeing it there will loose something of the grandness of it.
