Got photos of the critters of Pangani? Post them here!
While this guy looks like he's taking a dump, I think he was really just sitting in his own little corner of the world, enjoying a misty December day.
A little privacy, please
I spotted this bird in the aviary, sipping from the leaky sprinkler head. It wasn't on the bird spotting guide, so I don't have any idea what kind of bird it is.
Blue bird of happiness
Looks to be a Crested Coua (per link provided)..
By golly, I think he's got it! Thanks for the expert identification job.
Another awesome shot Justin! That thru the glass?
Indeed - that was an oldie - I think maybe the glass was cleaner back then! Took that one with my old superzoom H5.
A lot of people pass by the okapi enclosure and, when they don't see one, move on. A little patience is often rewarded with one walking right up to the front.
The giraffe's distant cousin
Golden weaver bird:
I love to take photos of those birds when they are weaving...
Does this count as 20 pieces of flair? He's ready for a night on the town!
Puttin' on the Ritz
RIP memory of the gerenuks, which are no longer on the Pangani trail:
There are young gorillas all over the place. Here's one of them with its mother.
Mother and child
Not sure how enthused he is with his meal:
More gorillas. This time it's a couple of youngsters playing king of the mountain.
Go on, jump, I dare you
This was the only time I saw this gorgeous blue bird - I've looked for him since and never saw him again:
It appears that these gorillas eat mostly leaves and grass, so I assume that the tongue indicates pleasure over his little snack.
No Salad Dressing Again?
This meercat's going for a punkrocker look - got himself into the hair color kit:
This little guy looks like he could use a shave and a haircut.
Got Two Bits?
