it is literally an optical joystick, much like your optical mouse. ; it doesn't move except for a click-button. ; i really haven't found the need to use it much at all as of yet.
it seems like all of the wireless carriers will be doing this, much like sony and microsoft raised gaming prices $10 with the current "next-gen" gaming consoles.
Well so far it's only for the EVO. ; Sprint has other Android phones that don't have that fee attached to it. And this is kinda the point. ; They all offer pretty much the same services. ; No 4g, this is true, but Sprint has specifically stated that the fee has nothing to do with 4g, which seems to be supported since they're charging it for people that don't live anywhere near a 4g service zone. The more I think about it, the more this bothers me. ; That's approaching half of the cost of an AT&T 2GB monthly service bill for the Ipad. ; Or it'd buy you another gigabyte of data with that device. ; But on Sprint that $10 buys you... nothing. ; Except the ability to use the phone that you had to purchase anyway on their network the same way that you could with many other phones that wouldn't require the extra fee. ; No special services, no extra bandwidth allowances. ; I saw a Sprint PR guy trying to say that the fee was partially because they expected people to use more data with the phone, but there was of course no mention of whether this would mean you were actually allowed to use more data. ; He kinda spoiled the game when he said that the phone offered a "premium" experience, and that the fee was to cover that. ; The fee was for the experience of using the phone that you had to purchase. The problem is.. everyone's mad at this.. but it sounds like everyone's burying their rage and is buying one anyway. ; And I'm likely to follow down that path. ; So Sprint wins. ; They learn they can charge people for NOTHING.
