Sparrow Hawk or a Merlin

It's one or the other - but either way, it's a lucky shot for me as he was sitting on my fence post about a meter from my door.

That's cool. I don't have any interesting animals around here. Maybe a few squirrels which are way fast.

 

Thanks guys - there are quite a few raptors in my area, but they don't usually land near houses - I was going to trim down my posts over the weekend, but I think I might leave a couple for these larger birds to perch on - hopefully they will keep the rabbits and other smaller critters away as well.

Strangely enough it was lunch time.

I saw lots of young rabbits out there on my run this morning and there are some larger raptors starting to come in as well.
