I was in a hurry yesterday so here's a longer intro. Ham Ham nice to see you here. My name is Chris and my wife is Amy, we live in GM central (Oshawa, Ont.). We don't have any kids (long medical story) but we have two large dogs Cognac and Dakota. I have always loved Disney and the Parks but my wife thought that Wonderland was great : and could not understand why I would not go with her there. Happily, she understands now after our honeymoon in 2001 and we have been back twice since. Our last trip was this past Dec. We drove down in our newer full sized pick-up, driving 16hrs the first day to Hardeeville SC and a nice 6 hrs the next to finish it off. Spent 12 days in POR and went to Universal's Parks for two days but stayed on Disney property. I use to be a fan of the buses on property but having your own ride has changed my opinion, if we fly down again I think a car rental is in store for us. It was a bit tough at first but once you get the lay of the land it was so much faster and I always had a seat ;D. Well that's about it I guess other than I'm in construction and take a huge amount of ribbing from my co-workers reguarding Disney World. Amy does nails, waxing and pedicures.
Aloha Chris! Welcome to Disney Magic. ; GREAT introduction! ; I just wanted you to know that you're not the only one out there in your sitch. ; No children here either as a result of medical problems, but we have a beagle named Pluto. ; I love your tag and couldn't agree with you more. ; I have people ask me ALL the time "but you don't have any kids, so why do you go to Disney every year?" ; *sigh*...of course NONE of the people that ask me that have EVER even been to WDW! ; :
People that have not been to Disney, just do not get it. ; I get a lot of, "you're going there again?", but only less than a month from coming back, we are ready to go back again.
We always get "don't you want to go anywhere else?" Sure there are lots of places to go that are just as fun and way cheaper..but we have been there so much it is like visiting a hometown. We will visit other places someday. Again it is always people who have not been to WDW that ask that.
What i like is with mousefest and other group meetings we have met people who love Disney as much as we do or in some cases even more. DisneyMagic.ca will be sponsoring mousefest 08' and i hope we can get a couple of members down there to show how Canada does it
You know, there really aren't places to vacation to that are much cheaper. ; Especially not for the quality of entertainment and food that you get at WDW!
I'll be there and taking the whole family this time.(I'm typing this on my wife's wii very hard without a keyboard!)
