Here are some more of the comics on the rack in the Shop-n-Go convience store in Tucson. The Seeds of Extinction house had a lot of interesting details, and proved to be a pretty decent house later that night when the lights were turned off and the plant monsters had moved in. More Bargain Books
This overgrown school bus was parked outside the entrance of the Seeds of Extinction. During the party, the wall of the building was used as a projection screen to show a short video showing the asteroid hitting the earth and its immediate after effects. Bus Stop
In the Scary Tales: Deadly Ever After house, all of the good things in your favorite fairy tales have turned evil, thanks to the Wicked Witch of the West. Here we discover that Rapunzel's hair has started acting on its own, killing all of the suitors attempting to climb Rapunzel's tower. All Tangled Up
This scene from the Seed of Extinction house reminds me of the scene in Little Shop of Horrors (the musical version, not the original Roger Corman version with Jack Nicholson), where the strange and interesting plant Audrey II uses a pay phone to call the human Audrey. Call for Audrey II
Is a Big Gulp not big enough for you? How about a 144 ounce Ligthnin' Gulp? That's just over a gallon of soda to keep you going (and going, and going). Too bad and asteroid killed everyone and the plants took over the planet. Lightnin' Strike
I plan to post nothing but Halloween photos until the end of October. In 2021, @Joanie Eddis-Koch and I took quite a few photos in the scare zones. That's mostly what you'll be seeing here. Today's photo is one of the Chainsaw Cheerleaders from the Lights Camera Hacktion: Eddie's Revenge zone on Hollywood Boulevard. "Eddie's making a movie. Using real monsters!" Are You Ready For Some...Football???
The 2018 Scare Zone in the New York section of the park was Seek and Destroy. Alien invaders wanted to use humans as fuel. OBEY
My favorite scare zone from HHN 2021 was based on Crypt TV, a YouTube channel with several different horror series. The zone was full of characters and creatures from those shows. I didn't know who any of them were then, but since the channel is still available on YouTube, I'm learning about them one by one. As I was walking down the street, I saw a head resting on this wall. I stopped for a photo, and she raised the knife up from behind the wall so it was clear what could happen. She's a character from Sunny Family Cult. Introducing Chaos
When Eddie Schmidt started calling his friends to be in his latest horror movie, the Female Vampire Punks were at the top of his list. But since COVID was still a threat in 2021, the vampires wore masks and used chainsaws to juice their victims. Safety first! FVP on the Town
The sidewalk between Hollywood and Springfield was set up as the Gorewood Forest scare zone during HHN 2021. The Terra Queen has moved into the neighborhood to start a reign of evil over all of humanity. All Fear the Queen
2021 was the 30th anniversary of HHN, so they had a special scare zone set up near the park entrance called 30 Years, 30 Fears. They populated it with whatever creatures they had lying around from those 30 years. This, for example, is a character from MASKerade: Unstitched from 2014. Macabre Masquerader
The ruthless alien cyber regime led by The Controller has taken over New York City. The Controller is a smart leader and delegates all of the dirty work to his minions. This minion has a fancy red uniform, so it must be important. That's CAPTAIN Minion, Feeble Human
This is a Harclaw. She decided to adopt a human baby. The catch? The baby hadn't been born yet and the mother didn't know what the bird-creature had in mind. You can watch the full story in a short film on the Crypt TV YouTube channel. If you're took chicken to watch, this photo from HHN might stimulate your imagination. Dirty Bird
Eddie Schmidt, unlike his brother Jack the Clown, prefers a chainsaw to white face paint. (How is Jack the Clown? He's apparently a very popular character in the history of HHN. He shows up from time to time and always attracts a crowd. In a way, Jack is to Halloween as Earl the Squirrel is to Christmas.) Back to Eddie: He's making a new horror movie and is using all of his monster friends as the cast. Not content to be just producer and directory, he's decided to be the star as well. Director and Star
