One of the great parts of this airshow in Reading, PA. is all the reenactors. ; Once you walk away from the flightline, you are immersed into hundreds of tents and vehicles, all looking like they would have during WWII. ; Since my father and I arrived at 7:30 for the 8:30 opening and the show does not start until 12:30, this was a great way for us to pass the time waiting for the planes to fly (some planes do go up every hour with passengers that purchased rides). ; There are easily more than 100 vehicles all from the WWII era. I could not help but think of the 4077th when I saw this jeep. Reenactor Tent by jbwolffiv, on Flickr As a child I always love these vehicles. ; I always called them halftracks, yet I am sure there is a more specific name. Halftrack by jbwolffiv, on Flickr
More WWII Weekend Here are a few more Jeff, I should have some planes ready this weekend. This particular camp set up as it being Christmas at Guadalcanal. ; I think they are not to fond of Tojo. The Colors by jbwolffiv, on Flickr This is a French village where they reenact a battle between the Germans and US soldiers. ; the whole reenactment takes about 15 minutes and during this time you hear a TON of fake gunfire from anywhere you are at the airport. Very cool. Supposedly there will be re-enactors at the Lost Nation air show in Ohio along with the B-17 Sentimental Journey, but I doubt it will be as extensive as this. Erich
