The weather during my trip was definitely not ideal - but of course better than here in Chicago. ; On Wednesday night I bundled up to spending the evening at Magic Kingdom and catch Wishes. ; I still dont have the desire to sit down and corner a good spot an hour before show time but Im pretty happy with the spot I got 15 minutes before Wishes. I was in a good place (about 10 or 15 feet to the left of the Partners statue) until the dad lifted the little girl with the Santa hat onto his shoulders. I decided to tilt my camera slightly so I could still get the castle since my goal was really fireworks practice. ; No ND filter practice yet - saving that for May. Anyway...on with the show! That blue and green line is Tink - in a long exposure! Star Wars Wishes? A 20 second exposure of the finale! I started an exposure on bulb setting and then I realized it was the end and the lights were coming back on and I didnt know where to stop since I knew I probably wasnt going to be able to get another shot in. Luckilyi I was shooting in RAW so I was able to fix it and pull the image back! Again like I said not not the best location but it was all in good fun!
The only time I was able to see the Magic Kingdom pyro was from a little further to the left of that vantage point. And it seems like nobody is immune from a dad with a kid. M wife has a big problem with that - we try to find a spot where there are no kids in front of us, and one seems to always pop in place about a minute before show time. (sheesh!)
