Helloooooooooooo....... Well here is the Coles notes on me. Married and a father of 2 boys 40 years young Running Instructor IT Support
If you really know the pain I was in you wouldn't smile. 26.2 miles, 85 degrees, multiple blisters.......
'k... now I feel ignorant... clue me in? ; What's the avatar a pic of? (well, other than you, obviously... I'm talking context)
This is the picture of me a few minutes after the Disney Marathon a week ago Sunday. BTW, Ignorance is bliss and we all would love to be blissful (if that is a word)
Oh wow, you actually ran the marathon. ; I bet that was just something else. ; Way to go, by the way!!
Welcome and Congrats. Your two year older than me and I get winded picking up the remote way to go. ;D.
Thanks for the kudo's. ; As an instructor at the Running Room and a non runner just over 3 1/2 years ago I believe that anyone can run. You just need to be a bit crazy. Also the Disney Marathon is a great race (rated in the top 10 in runners world). Over 1/2 of the people in it are novice runners and alot this is there first Marathon.
Oh I have so got to get motivated to run. ; I like it a lot myself, but I find that the breathing thing kills me. ; My legs will go a long ways, but as soon as I start running I can't stop panting and that just kills. ; Of course when i don't think about it at all then, everything is great. ; Any tips on how to control breathing while running would be greatly appreciated
Breathing comes with time, I used to sound like I was in heat but over time and slowing down I have learned to control my breathing. The biggest mistake people make is not knowing pace. When it comes to running and training for a Marathon there are 3 types of runs. LSD - Long slow Distance Tempo - A fairly fast speed with your heart rate about 80% of max Speed - This would be the fastest you can go for about 800 metres (twice around a track) Although I can write a whole paper on the that is the just of it.
There are times I'm jealous of people who can run.... but i hear cartiledge is pretty important *laugh* ; I'd love to say I did the Disney Marathon, though
