When I enter the Magic Kingdom, I am magnetically drawn towards Cinderella Castle, like most people. However, once I clear the buildings of Main Street, I inevitably veer to the right towards my favorite part of the park, Tomorrowland. As one who grew up in the early 60s, Tomorrowland's "Future that never was" is more of a "Future that was supposed to be." Space travel, aliens, people movers, ray guns, it's all here. It took me several attempts at this shot to catch the blinking globes on either side of "Tomorrowland" with the lights on. ; Hope you like it.
Agreed, this was the supposed to be the future. ; Unfortunately, that future became unaffordable. ; Instead we get the Internet, electronic gadgets and hybrid vehicles. ; Even the promise of nuclear power faded into reality. When spaceflight can make money, we'll get a future pointed in this direction again. ;
Thanks Justin, while you were shooting your shots, I looked up and it was there, and it looked really interesting. ; I thought it was a neat combination of earth and steel, if you will.
