Looking west from the Capitol building about 30 minutes after sunset. Folks, it pays to be in the right place at the right time. I did a little color saturation to the blue and orange colors to what I remembered them to be. Nikon D70/18-200VR, 6s, f/16, ISO 200, 0 EV, WB Auto +3, 34mm focal length, tripod w/VR off, remote
Nice work Scott! You really were there at the right time. We don't see sunsets like that very often around here.
Micheal, I took that Monday evening on the 14th. I originally planned to be up there the night before but it was raining heavily with a major east coast cold front pushing through. The next day I watched as the clouds moved out and the sky became clear (not hazy). I was like..oh, yeah, it's going to be a good night for shooting! Lucky, yes, but I took full advantage. After shooting around the Capitol, I moved down to the Lincoln Memorial for this photo. This is an angle I've seen before but since people are always different, it's unique in that way. World War II Memorial. I had my daughter, who is the granddaughter of a WWII veteran, stand where she was silhouetted by the fountain. She is facing the Atlantic theater end which is where my Dad served. Nikon D70/18-200VR, 4s, f/16, ISO 400, Ev -0.3, 18mm focal length, tripod w/VR off, remote
