Texas drought

    The other weekend I went back to the park where I took this shot:

    To try and take photos of the Milky Way. ; Didn't realize that in almost six years light pollution has crept up too much there. ; I'll have to escape to Big Bend National Park in order to get away from the pollution in the future.

    The drought has made that park depressing. ; Where I took that shot from - the water is gone. ; I didn't go back to see because I could see the inlet from where I was staying. ; The area now looks like the background here, which also used to be lake:

    The grassland in the distance used to be a lakebed that you could walk past.


    [​IMG] This tree is near the beginning of the trail. ; Most of the trails are closed off during the summer to protect endangered migratory birds that nest in Central Texas. ; But this portion was open.
