Last week Dina and I needed to go to Clearwater, FL, which always us takes over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunshine_Skyway_Bridge

This time, though, we had time to stop and have lunch at one of the rest areas and take some pictures. The bridge is pretty far away from the rest stops so that is why a couple of the pictures are hazy.

Nice shots...I like the one of the supports from on the bridge. ; Never thought about taking one like that, then again I was always driving solo when I crossed it.

Love that bridge! ; Though I've crossed it a few times in the past few years, I've only taken the time to photograph it on one trip 3 years ago...I stopped by the town at the end of the peninsula (I think it's Desoto), where there's a fort and a state park, and had a view of the bridge in the distance. ; That's my previous car in the one photo - obviously I like wagons since I got another one.

My brokerage is headquartered in St. Pete, so I'm usually up there every year or two for conferences.

    thanks guys!

actually this shot caused a mild argument with Dina. I was driving, switched the camera to continous fire, and stuck it out of the window to get the shots. But, I really wanted a close up of the lines and the bold yellow color.

At least you didn't lose your hand. ; Or worse, your camera.

I only stuck it out a little way. in some of the shots you can see the front of the door and mirror in the right side of the frame. Out of about 15 shots, only two included the top of the pylon on the right that I also wanted in the shot to give the yellow lines somewhere to go.

Nice shots guys & Very Cool Bridge indeed. Craig, I can understand what you went through for that. My wife goes nuts if I just look for stuff to photograph while I am driving & I've never actually pulled the camera out.

Nice set- The old bridge remains are now a public fishing pier next to the new bridge that I want to try shooting from. ; There is a cruise ship that comes in around dawn every Sunday morning. ; I've been meaning to get my lazy self out of bed one morning and try to catch a picture of it for the last few years now.
