"Storytellers"

This beautiful new statue stands on Buena Vista Street directly across from the Carthay Circle Restaurant. ;

The plaque bears the following quote from Walt Disney,
"It was July 1923. I packed all of my worldly goods – a pair of trousers, a checkered coat, a lot of drawing materials and the last of the fairy tale reels we had made – in a kind of frayed cardboard suitcase. And with that wonderful audacity of youth, I went to Hollywood, arriving there with just forty dollars. It was a big day the day I got on that Santa Fe California Limited. I was just free and happy!"

The statue is simply gorgeous.

Thanks, guys. ; That statue is really beautiful in person. ; It has a different feel or mystique to it than the Partners statue. ; Storytellers really makes you stop and think and gives great perspective to how incredible Walt's accomplishments really were. ; To have it out in California makes it even more fitting.

Jeff, it is awesome. ; A wonderful addition to DCA and a nice tribute to the man who made it happen.
