Last week, during the Week of the Young Child we had lots of fun days - one of them being "Fancy Day" ; where the kids dressed up if they wanted to. ; For Mother's Day I decided it would be cool to take some nice pics of the kids for their Moms. Later I got the brilliant idea to take "sibling pics". ; Im in love with this one - and this is pretty much straight out of the camera *I got the okay from their Dad to share this one. ; My favorite thing about this is that they practically posed it themselves! All I said was put your heads close together!
That's one of the things they say to do with kids. ; Give them something to do or let them come up with an idea (which might be dangerous! LOL) but worked beautifully for you here. This came over twitter this morning and I thought you'd like to read it: Tips for Photographing Children
One of the things that really helped all though not in this picture, was my home made reflector. I covered a piece of foamboard with tinfoil and laid it at the kids feet just out of the shot - got some awesome catchlights with it on the bright sunny day! Hopefully I didnt blind any of them too badly!
Scott - thanks for the article. I really did let the kids control the "photoshoot". There are pics of the kids hiding in the trees or jumping off benches. The boy in the picture in his solo shot was laying on his side totally posing! ; Think Mom might take a lot of pictures?
