  1. Just curious as to what color settings do you guys use the most. Standard, portrait, landscape, neutral, faithful or do you set up your own???

I tend to fluctuate between standard (neutral) and vivid...but on vivid, I tune down the sharpness to 0.

My two favorites are portrait and landscape.
I've modified them to be my own though.
On both settings I have raised saturation & contrast a little.
    Sharpness a lot.

I prefer to shoot jpeg, so the picture controls are very important to me to have them set right before I take the picture

Yeah with the Nikon shooting RAW, those picture settings are only picked up when you using Nikon Capture NX 2 or Nikon View. ; Otherwise, the affects are dropped by other software when converting to JPEG

I prefer the Standard settings except that when I'm shooting people, I like the Portrait settings.
